So the motherboard drivers disk for my one other computer came in the mail. Thank you EconoPC. EconoPC.com replaced a bad motherboard I bought from them, then sent me a replacement drivers disk. Also I luckily found some disks to reinstall windows on my other computer. It was a few day break, and now I'm evaluating the situation.
Situation:
1) Need to set up a room for standardized filming shots.
I need to:
A) Find a big solid white board
B) Do calculations to see how to set it up.
2) Need to set up a 3d engine on my computer.
3) Once I start taking quality shots, I need to do some more work on edge detection.
4) Once I have a 3d engine on my computer, I need to model a human into it.
5) Once I have a model human, edge detection, then I will do calibration routines where the model human will be built and modified based on your looks.
6) I then need to detect the human body in varying poses.
7) I will then need to capture images in real time, for processing.
8) I will then need to network 4-5 computers to refine results.
9) Finally I will process motion animation.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
To do for today:
#1) Clean up rooms more.
#2) Try and set up 3 of my 4 computers.
#3) Try and buy a small harddrive from ebay for my 4th computer.
#4) Do the mathmatics of how I need to set up my photo room.
#5) Shotgun my resume out to jobs.
#6) Try and compile a 3d engine.

Log:
8:29 AM 4/5/02, 3 days later, I managed to clean up some. Not that cleaning is difficult... Its just so boring I get distracted... Sleep and video games. Now its time to set up some computers.
Computer setting up:
Need to find-> 1 ethernet cable.
Need to swap video cards on computers + find driver disks.
Need to setup drivers on the computer that failed.
----------------------------------------------------------
So I couldn't find a cable, I may have to go out for one.
I can't setup my one computer, its giving me all sorts of shit... I'm going to try and strip away junk and reinstall windows.
Scandisk doesn't run the whole way through, so I am manually reading scandisk.log, and attempting to delete everything off the drive that I don't absolutely need. This computer is about 0% stable... I just need it up and running so I can put it in the other room to be used as my camera computer.
Scandisk finished running and freed up 97,000 lost clusters as well as fixing a ton of crosslinks and fat32 problems.
Trying to reinstall windows.
But I am having even trouble reinstalling windows as it says one of my .dlls is messed up... So I tried a boot from CDrom and that didn't work... I need to break out the 3.5 boot disk. In order to do this, I need to install a floppy drive into this computer.
10:28 AM 4/5/02 Having troubles installing the floppy drive. Found the drive disabled in bios... Tryin again. no dice. Changed the cable alignment. It works. But of course, my old bootdisk is corrupt. Trying random floppies... Oooh dos 6.2... reboot. Lockup... Reboot.
non system disk... win98 disk, score! Yet it doesn't recognize the cdroms... Hmmm. I'm going to attempt to install windows 98 using my other computer by removing the harddrive. So I try and install windows, but it says another version is there(which it is), and some disk compression(which its not). So I switch harddrives back to my other computer, backup my desktop and then delete windows. I then plan on physically moving the harddrive over to my new computer, reinstall windows, then move the harddrive back to my other computer, and install the drivers + setup windows + restore my desktop... Lets see how this works. 11:00 AM 4/5/02. So I hit a snag... I can't find the deltree command. So I'll look for the deltree command on my harddrive then my floppy drives. If worse comes to worse, I'll install this harddrive as a slave drive on my new computer, use windows to delete it, then install. Ok, I found deltree under windows/command by searching with this computer. I rebooted the other one in a dos search, now I will copy the command to a different location, and excecute it on the windows directory. 11:06 AM 4/5/02 Started deltree on windows... Taking a break and playing some more warcraft 3. 1 game of War3 won:11:13 AM 4/5/02. 2nd game of war3 won 11:31 AM 4/5/02. Windows still being deleted. 3rd game of war3 won 11:53 AM 4/5/02. Go deltree. Took a break.12:03 PM 4/5/02 deltree still at it... Maybe I should go out for a while. Went to hang out with the other grandmother, played some pool with the uncle. It started snowing lightly so I figured no reason to stay out today. 2:57 PM 4/5/02 home, deltree is done. Trying to swap harddrives again. pffth. aparently there is two ways of setting up windows onto a computer. I picked the wrong one. Its setting up now. 4:30 PM 4/5/02 woke up from sleeping, changed harddrives again when it said: detecting hardware because I want it running off my old computer's hardware not the new one. It seems to be installing now... holy impossible install seems half way completed.
Score! I HAVE WINDOWS AND THE VIDEO DRIVERS installed! Now lets see if I can get the camera vpeye program on, and hook the thing to the network... Then this computer will be done :) Ok camera installed, not network card. Ok, had to install networking drivers off a 3.5 floppy. I reboot and it says it didn't work... Ok installed the 2nd floppy drive, now I am transfering files I downloaded off of netgear's site... I'm not sure which file I need so I'm playing guess and check.6:13 PM 4/5/02 Disk 1 bad after transfer, disk 2 can't be formatted, disk 3 is good, extracted files, and attempting installation, but its not accepted... Trying another netgear driver... 6:30 PM 4/5/02 nope, doesn't work... Trying the last one. That didn't work either. 6:36 PM 4/5/02 Shutting down, attempting to adjust the card. HAHAH! On the card, it says its FA311, I have been trying to install FA310 drivers I believe! Ok, time to reinstall. Screwed the card into the computer. Time to boot up and try some FA311 drivers. 6:52 PM 4/5/02 Some freaky things occured when trying to use the FA311 drivers, so I just rebooted... 7:15 PM 4/5/02 It looks... as though its working. 7:23 PM 4/5/02 it works fully... I try and use internet explorer now and its trying to sell me MSN internet access. WTF is this shit. Oh thats just the desktop quick icon, ok I'll fix that later. Yet anytime I click on a hotlink It FORCES THAT WINDOW FUCK! I'm pissed now. I hate Microsoft so freaking bad right now... Ok, so I deleted a bunch of files related with internet connection wizardry and its working now. Die Wizard! Die Evil Warlock! :)
8:38 AM 4/6/02 Next Day
Ok Looking back at my list
I completed: clean up rooms more.
I have 2 computers set up of the 3: Try and set up 3 of my 4 computers.
To do still:
#1) Last computer
#2) Try and buy a small harddrive from ebay for my 4th computer.
#3) Do the mathmatics of how I need to set up my photo room.
#4) Shotgun my resume out to jobs.
#5) Try and compile a 3d engine.
------------------------------
So I need a video driver disk to install the good 3d card geforce2 in my new 1.9 athlon! Last step, then I can benchmark it on warcraft 3.
Of course I lose the drivers disk so I'm checkin out nvida's site to get them.
-------------------------------
9:28 AM 4/6/02 Alright, it was remarkably easy to install drivers. Nvidia uses the same drivers for all its products, but the hardware is different. Its ingenious actually. I downloaded 1 driver set, it worked fine the first time. Also I switched video cards, and the drivers for the geforce2 still worked with the lesser tnt2. Next step I need to do is swap my optical mouse into the new computer, a 40 gig harddrive, and put war3 on it... I think once thats done, I can try out war3, and then look into buying another harddrive for the other computer.
----------------------------------------------
huh. I try and run war3 on my 1.9 Atlhlon with geforce2, but it gives me a white screen instead of the game... Guess I'm switching video cards again. Switched... Harddrives seem too expansive. No small harddrives for 5-10$, I'll check later.
----------------------------------------------
11:33 AM 4/6/02 So I'm finally to the math of setting up a photo room!
Awesome.
